There is a marriage register of a Delia Matthews marrying a Simon Gettie at Neils Creek, NC on Aug 22, 1920. This would mean the spelling of "Geddie" on her headstone is incorrect. We suspect that Luella Matthews is not buried here. Perhaps she is at the Ica Matthews Family Cemetery a few miles down the road. She was the daughter of the late Clifton and Viola Burnett Godwin and the wife of the late Leonard Matthews. Survivors: son - Christopher Matthews of the home; daughter - Techiera Matthews of the home; sister - Angela Autry of Godwin; one grandchild; other relatives and friends. View Less
